The Community Grants Program is an open, competitive program for nonprofits that reside in and serve the residents of Chemung and Southeastern Steuben counties. Grants are made in the fall and spring in the areas of the arts, culture, education, youth, environment, animals, human services, and capacity building.
Because organizations cannot plan for every rainy day expense or future opportunity, a quick-decision turnaround and rolling deadline enables organizations to meet our community’s most critical needs without having to wait for the next Community Grants Program grant-making cycle.
Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes Grants for the Environment ensure that our communities have the fiscal resources to protect, preserve and enhance the natural resources of our environment for generations to come.
**** The 2010 Capital Request grantmaking cycle has been postponed. The Foundation is moving funds generally awarded as part of the annual Capital Request grantmaking cycle to the Community Grant Program’s spring cycle to increase available Community Grant Funds.
The Keuka Area Fund provides grants to registered 501(c)(3) organizations that serve residents of the communities surrounding Keuka Lake and protect the physical environment of the region.
Rose’s Youth Philanthropists (RYP) is a regional youth grants committee requesting proposals from organizations that impact youth in a wide variety of fields in Chemung and Southeastern Steuben counties. The S. Roberts Rose Fund was established at the Community Foundation of the Elmira- Corning and the Finger Lakes in order to give youth a voice at the grantmaking table. RYP offers grants of $200-2000 to local youth-serving organizations.
The Fund for Women focuses on grants that help girls and women achieve economic self-sufficiency and realize life goals in the areas of health, wellness, career, and life skills.
The Elmo M. Royce Fund grants funds to non-profit organizations whose programs support youth activities and recreational programs for the youth of Schuyler County, New York and is a component fund at the Community Foundation. In May of 2003 HSBC Bank transferred the management of the Elmo M. Royce Youth Fund to the Community Foundation.
