Ti-Ger Foundation Finds New Home at the Community Foundation
Wednesday, December 01, 2010Community Foundation is pleased to announce that the Ti-Ger Foundation assets have been transferred to the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc.
Since 1984, the Ti-Ger Foundation has been making grants to nonprofit organizations in the Corning Area investing approximately $840,000 in over 100 civic, cultural, educational and charitable organizations. Ti-Ger was first established by Edwin James, longtime manager of the Corning Office of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
"It is our great honor to carry forward the grantmaking and community support legacy that the trustees of the Ti-Ger Foundation have carefully created over the years in and around Corning, New York," said Program Officer, Sara Palmer. Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes was established in 1972 and is a permanent source of charitable funds backed by a wide variety of donors committed to the social and economic health of the Southern Finger Lakes.
